Overview
Digelec is a consultancy specialized in electrical engineering with more than 15 years of experience delivering highly complex projects for Codensa, electrical substations, and industrial plants in Colombia. Its physical archive contained technical blueprints, equipment manuals, inspection reports, material specifications, and documentation from historical projects accumulated over years of operation.
The main challenge was threefold: first, digitizing more than 1,500 documents in different formats and states of preservation; second, translating technical documentation originally in English and German into Spanish with terminological precision; and third, creating a document management system that would allow instant searches by project, equipment, date, or technical keyword.
What we did
- Mass digitization with OCR
- Specialized technical translation
- Enterprise document management
- Multilingual repository
We used to spend hours searching for a specific blueprint in filing cabinets. Today any engineer instantly accesses the documentation in Spanish, English, or German from any location. Our technical team's productivity increased exponentially.
